About Us
Founder and Clinical Director Kim Sargent launched the practice in 1997 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Peterborough ON. It grew rather quickly and with it, our approach, which was later coined Neural Network Therapy®.
Most people approach behavioural change by employing self-discipline, which is both time-consuming and expensive. Self-discipline is fleeting, at best. Learning to get on the right side of science means working with the brain’s habit-forming ways. It means harnessing motivation, and knowing when to give yourself some room to breathe.
We have a team of Counsellors known as Emotional Health Practitioners, and each have their respective areas of expertise. Finding the right person for you is our first order of business. To speak to someone directly, contact our offices at 705-740-8360 or grow@canadianfamilyhealth.ca. To choose your own visit our online booking system.
We know more about the brain than ever before. It only makes sense that as neuroscience evolves, therapy does too.
“Neural Network Therapy® was designed to disrupt. We want to grow our emotional intelligence in order to outgrow our need for therapy. ”
~Kim Sargent Founder of Neural Network Therapy® and Clinical Director of Canadian Family Health Counselling

Not ever before has it been more important to care for our mental well-being. We thank you.
Teaching Model
We believe it takes an immersive experience to build new skills. We provide Masters level supervision for Social Work students to gain experience in their field and, coupled with the Emotional Heath Practitioner Program, begin the practical application of mental health care services.
