What is Neural Network Therapy®

Simply put, a neural network is a habit that’s formed in the brain. We’re made up of countless neural networks that determine the way we think and behave.

Most of our neural networks are wired-up haphazardly. Anything that happened a lot of times in a row, stuck. Despair, guilt, fear or anger, these can be tricky habits to break.

We can generate shortcuts to feel-good emotions. Thankfully, the habit of happiness is sticky too.

Room with large window and 2 chairs in Canadian Family Health Counselling building

Canadian Family Health Counselling is located at 155 Hunter Street East in Peterborough Ontario’s quaint East City.

Clinical Director Kim Sargent completed her Internship at the Hospital for Sick Children and moved to Peterborough to begin the practice at St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1997.

We’ve since restored a beautiful heritage building in an effort to leave behind the more sterile setting, offering a warm welcoming space for your comfort.

Virtual vs In-Person Counselling

Canadian Family Health Counselling recognizes the importance of accessible counselling services to meet the needs of those seeking support. Our Counsellors are here for you, offering the same quality counselling services virtually and by telephone.

McMaster University has conducted a recent study showing that virtual counselling is even more effective than face-to-face therapy.
